With exactly one day to spare, I got to do some non-book-related tourism. This is Promenade Plantée, a lovely urban oasis. I couldn't find an open entrance and climbed a wall to get in--only to discover that the reason I magically had it all to myself was that it was closed for some security reason. My bad, but it was a restful, satisfying walk with beautiful views of Paris.
