Not that I want to correct Rain or his author, however all single malts and their derivative blends are known as WHISKY not WHISKEY. Rain's author is very meticulous in describing drink, food, persons, places and weapons so just a little FYI. Also, many have translated the gaelic word ousqebaugh as "water of life'', however, an alternate translation would be "lively water" which I believe more accurately describes its effect ---in moderation.  Wink

Welcome to the board, mcfarlane! Can I get you a cyber refreshing beverage?

Our fellow Rainiac, Gekko, a lovely Weegie, has told us firmly several times that Whisky is from Scotland, but Whiskey is from everywhere else.

Oh you are definitely going to fit in with us here!  Ask Mistress Whisky... she'll agree with you.

And welcome to the boards!  Come on and post, and join in on the fun!

Oh yes, please rest assured that we (English / Scottish members) have raised that particular issue here before.

Hello and welcome, by the way.

Thanks, Mac -- this is one of the mistakes I've addressed on the website mistakes page.
